The new deviant art

Journal Entry: Sat Aug 12, 2006, 8:53 AM
I know some have complained a bit, and there probably are a number of kinks in the new coding but I think the updated version of this site is quite nice. Some of the buttons are placed around rather nicely. I really like that more favourites and more recent deviations are being shown! It allows for more info to be put out there and I guess reflects better that a lot of people put stuff up in batches. Also the easily accessed favourites button is nice.

New avatar

Yep, I got a new avatar.
I wish I had more to say but not much is happening. I got a new job and I am slowly working on art.

Deadline hit

Journal Entry: Sat Feb 11, 2006, 6:21 PM
I am happy to say I made the deadline yesterday and I'm pretty pleased with what I handed it. I spent the last two weeks worrying about it and my other work really suffered. I'm seriously concerned about my next project and I was supposed to work on it today but I couldn't get to school. Instead I painted for a project coming up and I did another painting.

In praise of banality

Journal Entry: Mon Jan 30, 2006, 10:43 PM
I put up a new scrap, I'm not sure if it is worthy of being a deviation. In other news, life is going alright. I'm on top of my work for the moment but I have an important deadline looming.

Missing in Action: Inspiring Artist

Journal Entry: Mon Nov 14, 2005, 9:48 PM
One of my favourite artists is a guy (presumably) called SaneJack also known as SaneJack7. He used to linger on conceptart.org before I got there myself but he mysteriously dissapeared just over a year ago and hasn't been heard of since. I am pretty sure someone of that level would be pretty committed to art so by now he must be even better. Here are some examples of threads he made at conceptart.org

While I havn' exhausted my options for searching I have looked around. To my surprise I found an ancient account he had here on deviant art which he mainained for a minimum of 5 days! I found out his name is Chris Blanco, which doesn't ring a bell for me and my googling skills have so far failed to find anything current. :(

He also had an account on some other forum but he stopped posting around the same time he stopped posting at conceptart. I hope one day to find out what happened to him. There are 3 possible explanations I can think of for this conundrum.
1) unfortunate accident (hopefully not)
2) He stopped using Sanejack as a callsign.
3) He is loaded with lots and lots of work because of his skills and is too busy to share.

As I've said, I love his stuff and I'll be painting and copying it at least until I exhaust the limited supply.

In other news, I should get a flippen avatar.
